Six must-have treatments to reinvigorate your hair

Dry, lifeless hair is no fun. But if, like us, you experimented with multiple hair colours during the lockdown then your locks might be a bit lacklustre. All sorts of things can stress your tresses, from chemicals and heat treatments to something as simple as a change in weather! But the good news is there are plenty of ways to show your hair some love. Here are six of our favourites.

  1. A miracle oil

Argan oil is produced from the kernels of the argan tree, which is native to Morocco. Women there have used it to protect their hair from sun damage for years. While it’s taken the rest of us a while to catch on, products containing this miracle ingredient are now widely available. If your hair needs some repair, apply a mask – like this Xpel Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask – for a deep conditioning treatment. Expect a reduction in split ends and dryness, and smoother, healthier hair.

2. Bee happy, honey

Another wonder ingredient in haircare is honey, specifically manuka honey. Produced mainly in Australia and New Zealand, it’s made by bees from the nectar of the Manuka tree. Honey is known to be effective at sealing moisture into your hair, reducing breakage. It also has antiseptic qualities, so it’s great for your scalp. For a quick pick-me-up, try the 7th Heaven Manuka Honey Rescue Mask, which intensively repairs and strengthens your hair for radiant results.

3. Wrap it up

Whether you’re keeping your hair away from your face while you’re washing off your makeup, or keeping it up to dry after a shower, a hair wrap is a handy thing to have in your bathroom. You can even keep them on when you sleep to prevent tangles from forming. You don’t need to splash out either – our Sure Hair Wrap is a cost-effective way to tame those tresses.

4. Time for a comb over?

Rake combs are another brilliant addition to your haircare collection. They’re highly effective at evenly distributing products, as well as the hair’s own natural oils. The Body Collection Rake Comb is one of our favourites.

5. Keep it conditioned

Using a conditioner after you shampoo your hair is a step we often take without questioning, but it is actually helpful. Conditioner strengthens the shaft of each hair, improving elasticity and giving it a natural lustre. The Provoke Touch Of Silver Intensive Conditioner 400ml moisturises locks by infusing extra moisture for a smooth, silky texture. It’s especially effective for blonde, platinum, grey or white hair.

6. Repair and protect

Another ingredient to keep a lookout for in your haircare products is keratin. It’s actually a naturally occurring protein found in hair, nails and skin and it has reparative properties. However, it can be depleted as a result of heat treatments and chemicals. Products like Creightons Pro Keratin 2 Minute Treatment 125ml are a great way to boost this power protein. Use once a week for stronger, shinier hair.
